Using Glucocil

How should I start taking Glucocil?

For the first 3 days, take 1 softgel with lunch and 1 softgel with dinner. After 3 days, take 2 softgels with lunch and 2 softgels with dinner. If you forget to take Glucocil with a meal, feel free to take it after that meal.

The instructions say to take Glucocil with lunch and dinner, but can I take it with breakfast?

Yes. Take Glucocil with your two largest meals of the day, and if breakfast is one of those two, that’s OK.

Would I benefit from taking more than the recommended amount?

Perhaps. Depending on your individual situation, taking more than the recommended daily amount may help you reach your blood sugar goals. Of course, you should first consult your physician.

When should I test my post-meal blood sugar level?

One of the most important times to test your blood sugar level comes 30-45 minutes after you eat. This 30 to 45 minute “window” is when your body is digesting many of the carbohydrates and sugars from the foods you’ve eaten. Testing your blood sugar during this time will often show a significant “spike”–or higher elevation–than other time points such as two hours after meal.

Is it safe to take 3 times a day?

Yes. Glucocil can be taken 3 times a day, with each meal.

Occasionally I like to treat myself to some carbohydrates like bread or pastas. If I take some Glucocil prior to eating them, will it help?

Yes. Taking Glucocil before a carbohydrate treat will help reduce the blood sugar elevation after.

Since taking Glucocil, I feel less hungry and more energetic. Is this expected?

If Glucocil makes me less hungry, should I skip meals?

Should I take Glucocil every day?

Does Glucocil have any side effects?

One of the 3 ways that Glucocil promotes normal blood sugar levels is by reducing the absorption of carbohydrates in food. Unabsorbed carbohydrates (especially if one eats too many of them), can give some minor discomfort (bloating, gas constipation, loose stools) before being expelled from the body. However, the majority of people don’t experience discomfort, especially if they’re watching their carbohydrate consumption.
